Please, God, would You write straight with my crooked lines ?
A PRAYER
O God, I cannot undo the past, or make it never have happened! -neither can You. There are some things that are not possible even for You -but not many!
I ask You, humbly, and from the bottom of my heart: Please, God, would You write straight with my crooked lines? Out of the serious mistakes of my life will You make...

On relationships...
Anecdotally, I greatly disapprove of this talk of gf/bf/relationships as if they’re commodities. “Want one”/”Have one”/etc. …it just puts me off to think that the person I could end up with for the rest of my life is comparable to something I could pick up at Wal-Mart.

The Politics of Gender in Occupy Nashville →
elli-mae:
“Occupy Nashville’s problem has not just been that women get abused there. More broadly, our problem is that when men and women call out that abuse, they are told that ‘that’s not what this movement is about’ and that feminism is a distraction from our larger goals, the goals that supposedly unify all of the 99%. While this kind of dodging doesn’t always fly, it works surprisingly...

But American Christians, I must say to you as I said to the Roman Christians years ago, “Be not conformed to this world, but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind.” Or, as I said to the Philippian Christians, “Ye are a colony of heaven.” This means that although you live in the colony…

David Bowden Poetry: A Glimpse into Non-Violence →
davidbowden:
For many of us the question of violence or non-violence never really gets asked. We assume that war is necessary, self-defense is righteous, and physical punishment is just. We allow ourselves not only to have enemies, but to fight them, imprison them, and even kill them in the name of peace,…

Here is the video from today’s MSNBC roundtable discussion between 3 occupiers (from NY, LA, and Nashville), and three tea partiers.
What do you think?
You did a lovely job, Miss Elli.
Also: LOL at the Tea Partier talking about the EPA as though it’s a new thing from the Obama administration.
Technically speaking, a very well presented, unbiased...
